  5.     This is version 1.3 of Bon Appetit, a fast recipe database manager
  6. for the Amiga. This is the fourth release of the program, and it has
  7. become much more stable and full featured than the original release.
  8.  
  9.     Many bugs have been fixed, and new features added include recipe
  10. browsing, mass export features, output of recipe names and keywords,
  11. more explicit error messages, and more. See the "BonAppetit.Changes"
  12. file for more detailed information of the new stuff for version 1.3.

  21.     A small change was made to accomodate tags in Bon Appetit. The
  22. ".pointer" file structure was lengthened slightly (from 10 to 12 bytes).
  23. It is easy to change from pre 1.2 ".pointer" structure format to
  24. 1.2 format, by running the included program, "ConvertP". You should
  25. have a backup of your old pointer file, though.

  31.     Previous users of Bon Appetit will find a bit of a change in the
  32. way Bon Appetit handles things. The first is the change in the color
  33. scheme for better looking gadgets. I renamed the auxiliary color into
  34. the gadget color, and switched it with the menu choice color. What
  35. this means for you if you have a modified "bon.defaults" file, things
  36. might look a bit strange. Just load in the "orig.defaults" and modify
  37. from there, or modify your defaults file, switching the two colors.

  39.     The second adjustment for previous users is the elimination of
  40. the "bon.databases" file, and the creation of the "Bon_Databases"
  41. directory. You'll no longer need the first file, and now new recipe
  42. databases will have their names (no appendages) added to the directory.
  43. For example, the sample database is already in the new directory, as
  44. (full path) "BonAppetit_Data/Bon_Databases/recipes1". If you have
  45. created other recipe databases, simply duplicate "recipes1", rename it
  46. to your recipe database name, and copy it back to the "Bon_Databases"
  47. directory, and Bon Appetit will now be aware of the presence of your
  48. database.

  52.     If you have delayed registering, take a look at this new version.
  53. Bon Appetit can now import FOUR formats of recipes: its own format, and
  54. 3 popular MS-DOS formats. It is now almost bug-free, and much more mature.
  55. I am committed to further developing this program, but I can only do it
  56. with your help. Please register and help support the shareware concept.

  70.     Although the program is absolutely the same, latter distributions
  71. of Bon Appetit v1.3 have an additional AmigaDos script (with icon)
  72. called "InstallArpLib". All it does, upon selection, is automatically
  73. copy arp.library to your sys:libs/ directory. The docs have been
  74. changed slightly as well to reflect this new file. Other than that,
  75. everything is the same.
